Fire Chief's Briefing for August 23 to August 28, 2014



Here is a summary of Brentwood Fire and Rescue’s emergency responses for the period of August 23 through August 28, 2014.


We responded to 45 emergency calls for service.


These calls can be broken down into the following categories:
 
Fire: 2

EMS/Rescue: 24

Hazardous Condition: 3

Service Call: 3

Good Intent: 4

False Call: 9


Saturday, August 23 at approximately 5:10 pm:

E4 was dispatched on a report of a tree on fire after being struck by lightning.  E4 arrived on scene to find one tree visibly on fire near the back of a construction site.  Crew members deployed 200’ of 1” hand line and extinguished the fire.  With no further hazards E4 returned to service and quarters.





  

Thursday, August 28 at approximately 10:43 am:

E2 was dispatched on a report of car fire on I-65 southbound near the 69 mile marker. E11 responded with E2 to provide manpower as well as traffic control. BFR units arrived on scene to find one car on the shoulder of the road with flames visible from the engine compartment. E11 pulled past the car for fire attack while E2 staged behind the car for traffic control. Crew members extinguished the fire using the CAFS system on E11. Once all hazards had been mitigated BFR units returned to service and control of the scene was transferred to THP.
